iSelect $499 Switch Guarantee – Terms & Conditions

  1. These Terms & Conditions apply to the $499 Switch Guarantee (Offer) offered by iSelect Health Pty Ltd, ABN 87 088 749 955 (iSelect).

  2. If you are an “eligible person” (see below) then, subject to following the redemption process described below, you are entitled to receive $499 from iSelect if you switch your hospital and/or extras private health insurance through iSelect to the same or lower level of cover and are required by your new health fund to re-serve any waiting period(s).


  3. Eligible Persons
    1. 1. The Offer is only open to persons who:
      1. (a) are Australian residents aged 18 years and over; and

      2. (b) purchase a private health insurance policy (excluding overseas visitor cover) through iSelect
        1. i. between 15 January 2012 and 14 April 2012, unless extended by iSelect in writing; and

        2. ii. where the new policy is the same or a lower level of cover than the person’s immediately previous private health insurance policy; and
      3. (c) held private health insurance immediately prior to switching through iSelect; and

      4. (d) do not cancel their private health insurance policy purchased through iSelect within 30 days of purchase; and

      5. (e) are not employees (including their immediate family members) of iSelect or any of iSelect’s marketing agencies.

  4. Redemption process
    1. 2. The Offer is restricted to one redemption of $499 per policy, even if the policy covers more than one person.

    2. 3. The only way to make a claim under the Offer is for an Eligible Person, within 12 months of purchasing a private health insurance policy through iSelect, to:
      1. (a) contact the iSelect Customer Services team on 13 19 20 or info@iselect.com.au;and

      2. (b) provide to iSelect details of the private health insurance policy that was purchased through iSelect, together with documentary evidence of:
        1. i. the Eligible Person’s “transfer certificate” from their previous health fund; and

        2. ii. the disputed or denied claim from their new health fund arising from their new health fund not recognising the waiting period already served with their old health fund for the same or lower level of benefit than under their old health policy.
    3. 4. If an Eligible Person complies with the redemption process in paragraph ‎3 above, then iSelect has the right to endeavour to reach agreement (on the Eligible Person’s behalf) with the Eligible Person’s new health fund in relation to the recognition of waiting periods already served with the old health fund.

    4. 5. If iSelect is unable to resolve the disputed or denied claim referred to above on the Eligible Person’s behalf, then iSelect will, within 30 days, pay to the Eligible Person $499 by way of direct debt into an Australian bank account nominated by the Eligible Person.

    5. 6. iSelect reserves the right to verify the eligibility and validity of all claims under the Offer and may disqualify any claimant for tampering with the redemption process or for submitting a claim other than in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.

  5. Other
    1. 7. The Offer is not transferable to any other person.

    2. 8. iSelect reserves the right to make reasonable and prospective modifications to the Offer by changing these Terms & Conditions.

    3. 9. iSelect’s decision in relation to all aspects of the Offer is final.
