Executive Team Profiles

Damien is the co-founder of iSelect, and from company inception in 2000, he held the combined roles of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. In line with best practice corporate governance, The Board separated the combined Chairman and Chief Executive Officer function in 2009, and Damien assumed the role of Group Chief Executive Officer.

In his role as Managing Director, Damien focuses on projects of high strategic value to iSelect, including accelerating the already rapid growth of our new businesses, including Home Loans.

Prior to launching iSelect, Damien gained commercial experience with large corporations including General Motors Holden, and worked in executive positions with pre-eminent stockbroking and investment banking house, Goldman Sachs JBWere.

Damien holds tertiary qualifications in both Engineering (Honours) and Law from Monash University plus post graduate qualifications in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. Damien is a fellow of the FINSIA (the Financial Services Institute of Australasia).

Matt was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of iSelect in February 2012, overseeing the day to day operations of the iSelect group of companies and became a Board Director at that time.

Matt joined iSelect in 2008 as Corporate Development Director to drive iSelect’s group strategy, including M&A and Corporate Finance. In this role, Matt was responsible for expanding the iSelect consumer offering via the launch of new business categories and for attracting additional investment to support the continued growth of the company. In 2011 Matt lead the successful acquisition of Infochoice, and the continued development of the iSelect management team. Matt was appointed to the iSelect board in September 2010 as Company Secretary.

Matt has 15 years of strategy, M&A, corporate finance, legal and operational experience in early stage, high growth companies. Prior to joining iSelect, Matt spent a decade in the UK, developing and running start-up technology and media businesses. Before leaving the UK, Matt was the Commercial & Strategy Director of British Telecom Plc's mobile TV business unit - Movio.

Prior to this, he was the Business Affairs Director and Company Secretary for Shazam Entertainment Limited, where he was responsible for commercial and corporate strategy, and international development (including fundraising and investor relations).

Matt holds a Bachelor of Laws and trained at the international law firm Allens Arthur Robinson. He is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Federal and High Courts of Australia.

Gerald joined iSelect in 2006 and is responsible for overseeing the operational side of the iSelect intermediation businesses, including Health, Life and General Insurance, Telecommunications, Money and Home Loans. Gerald also maintains executive responsibility for Sales, Operations and I.T. across these businesses, including the iSelect contact centre.

Gerald has over 20 years international experience in the financial and services sectors. He has held the positions of, MD, CEO, COO and Sales Director with several US and European corporations, including BP, IQ (Computer Associates,) Information Builders and FFastFill.

Gerald holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from Kings College, London.

Chris joined iSelect in 2011 as Chief Financial Officer for the iSelect group of companies. With a wealth of experience as a senior business leader, Chris most recently held the position of Interim CFO for Barminco Ltd.

Prior to this, Chris was CFO of Transurban Group, where he was responsible for IT, HR, Investor Relations and M&A. Over the years, Chris owned his own business advisory firm, where he consulted to major Australian companies on strategic business matters and strategy realignment.

From 1979 to 2004, Chris worked for the global accounting firm Deloitte - 16 of these 25 years were as partner of the firm, including; Managing Partner Victoria, Managing Partner Asia Pacific Assurance and Advisor Services, and Managing Partner Asia Pacific Energy and Resources.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Business with Distinction (Accounting) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and post-graduate qualifications from Harvard Graduate School of Business and Mt Eliza Business School. He is a fellow of the Institute of Charted Accountants and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Trevor joined iSelect in 2010 and holds the position of General Counsel with responsibility for legal and compliance. Trevor has over 12 years legal experience and prior to joining iSelect, worked for Freehills in Melbourne and Eversheds in London, advising primarily on corporate and commercial matters. Trevor holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Information Technology and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Chris joined iSelect in 2009 as Product Director to create and lead iSelect’s Product Management team, who manage iSelect’s website and the customer’s experience of iSelect’s intermediation service.

Before coming to iSelect, Chris held various senior management positions with REA Group, Uecomm, TeleDenmark and Sensis. He has 18 years strategy, product management and marketing experience with online and IT companies and holds a Bachelor of Business and a Masters of Marketing.

David joined iSelect in 2011 as Chief Marketing Officer. David has 20 years experience in marketing having developed, launched, and managed some of the world's largest brands. Most recently David managed the global marketing and public relations for Jetstar and previously worked with GE, Mercedes Benz, Yellow Pages, Volkswagen, BBC, and HSBC.

He holds a masters degree in Direct Marketing from Kingston Business School.

Elise joined iSelect in February 2012 to lead and develop iSelect’s strategic HR function.

Prior to this, Elise held human resources roles of increasing responsibility for over a decade within some of Australia’s most well-recognised companies including Seek Limited and Pacific Brands. During her career, Elise has also held management positions within various multi-national corporations including the UK-based confectionery manufacturer Cadbury and its parent company Kraft Foods.

Elise holds tertiary qualifications in marketing and management from Monash University and post-graduate qualifications in psychology.

Jo joined iSelect in 2009 and is the Executive General Manager of Sales and Operations which includes responsibility for iSelect’s customer facing functions.

With over a decade of experience in managing contact centres and sales teams, Jo has worked for some of Australia’s largest companies including Telstra, Citibank, Metlife, Vodafone, Westpac and Truenergy.

Jo holds a Bachelor of Communication Studies from Auckland University and a Master of Business Administration from Monash University.

Paul joined iSelect in 2010 and is responsible for all external relations covering investors, government and media.

Paul began his career in Federal Government, spending six years as an adviser to two Ministers for Health and Ageing. During that time he advised the Ministers on all matters relating to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) and private health care in Australia. Following this, Paul worked in the pharmaceutical industry in Australia and the United States.

Paul has undergraduate degrees in Law and Arts, and successfully completed a Master of Arts by Research.

Daniel joined iSelect in 2010 and holds the position of Executive General Manager – Health and General Insurance. Daniel has 16 years sales, marketing and management experience spanning Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America. During that time he has worked with numerous IT and online businesses including IBM, TrakHealth and realestate.com.au.

Before joining iSelect, Daniel was the Head of Residential at realestate.com.au. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Masters of Commerce.

Adam joined iSelect in 2010, where he was responsible for the launch and management of iSelect’s telecommunications, energy and money business units. Since late 2011 Adam has also been leading the integration of Infochoice; the day to day operations of which now fall within his area of responsibility.

Prior to joining iSelect, Adam held the role of CEO Asia and Emerging Markets for the Australian surfing and lifestyle company Rip Curl. Adam’s experience also includes four years at Macquarie Bank, where he held the position of Manager, Investment Banking Group. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) and a Diploma in Financial Markets.

Girish joined iSelect in 2002 during its early days as a start-up company and has successfully led IT through different stages of iSelect's growth. As Executive General Manager of IT, he is responsible for all IT development, operations and governance.

Girish is a seasoned technologist with over 17 years of extensive experience in enterprise software development. Prior to joining iSelect he worked at IBM and Telstra and has led development teams at JP Morgan and Singapore Technologies in Singapore.

Girish holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, India.
