The principal activity of the company is the comparison and provision of health insurance policies to Australian consumers on behalf of participating health insurers. These insurers include some of Australia’s most respected health funds.
Online or via our contact centre, iSelect aims to save customers money, time and effort by making available in one location pertinent product information and advice for comparison purposes across a range of participating health suppliers. We help consumers understand their needs and discover what is important to them when choosing between particular insurance products.
In addition, we focus on matching the needs of the consumer to our available policies in a manner which recognises their financial and other considerations. This assists consumers to refine and make purchase decisions which are tailored to their needs. We then enable consumers to purchase their selected policy or policies in an efficient, timely and simple manner.

Our Vision
Our vision is to become the Natural First Choice for consumers who are considering purchasing a complex household insurance product. We do this by providing consumers with the tools to help them understand their needs, understand the product and product features they are interested in purchasing and then enable them to compare, select and purchase with minimum fuss and effort.
iSelect believes that the platform and technology it has developed for the comparison and recommendation of private health insurance can ultimately be extended to other complex consumer services across a range of industries - be it in life insurance, financial services and other purchase evaluation areas. Already the company has established iSelect Life as a subsidiary of iSelect Co Pty Ltd. iSelect Life, an Australian Financial Services Licensee (AFS License Number 331128) through its Authorised Representatives provides choice and professional advice on life insurance to Australians.
As measured by Hitwise, Australia’s independent internet measurement company, iSelect (as at June 2007) is the 2nd most visited private health insurance website in Australia and has consistently been awarded with the Hitwise™ respected “top 10 website” award for the health insurance category.
The company’s estimated share of annual health insurance sales across all of Australia during the 2007 financial year was approximately 8% and rising.
